Chris Holder is an American actor born in Sanford, North Carolina. At age 7, his family relocated to a small town outside of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he remained for the duration of his adolescence. In 2010 he relocated to Chicago to embark on his career. Since then he has appeared in various independent film projects around the city, gathering a few accolades along the way.
In 2015 he was granted the "Next Generation Award" by the Twister Alley International Film Festival for his continued growth in independent film. In 2017 he was awarded "Best Actor" in the drama short category from the Windy City International Film Festival for his role in the short film Redshift. Later that year, he made his television debut in a co-starring role as Dan Harris in season 6 of NBC's Chicago Fire.
Currently based in Chicago, Chris has spent the past few years appearing in his first recurring role as Officer Banks in seasons 8 and 9 of NBC’s Chicago P.D. Chris is actively seeking ways to grow his craft and knowledge while furthering himself in the industry.
Chris received his training at multiple acting studios across Chicago. He studied the Meisner technique at Black Box acting studio as well as a number of on camera courses at Vagabond School of the Arts. To further his growth in 2013, he dedicated six months of intensive study at the Herbert Berghof Studio in New York, specializing in the Uta Hagen method.
